OJVA stands with the Black community and our nation in the movement for change and equality. The recent senseless deaths of many Black people has brought to a head the need for changes in America. The systematic racism that has been woven into our society should be examined and major changes need to be made.

OJVA can be a part of the changes by our actions within our own volleyball community and with more education. Sport and team interactions provide an opportunity for positive interaction and an equalizer in the gym and on the court. Young people in our country will be the next leaders and we are hopeful that many of you will choose to be part of the change.

Our leadership team is committed to creating structures that will allow for sustainable change in our culture and allow us to become a stronger ally for our athletes of color. We will continue to educate ourselves as coaches and work to partner with the youth of our club to champion this effort. We are all in this together and want to show our support to our athletes of color now and in the future.

We hope many of you will join us on this important journey. Please look for announcements coming soon that will allow opportunities for all of our community to get involved.
